year-end roundup
new links for everything I posted here this year, since a lot of them are dead, in reverse order:
catalog, 199x
sloppily programmed to the point of being borderline unlistenable. may or may not be revised without this space being updated (dropbox makes it easy for me to that and very hard for me to tell if anyone actually downloads things, which is perhaps the most ideal working relationship):

sleeplessness improvisations
played over three hours or so while I tried to make a keyboard and an unsuccessful looping system work better for me.

songs I couldn't finish
by request of a handful of people because I couldn't keep my mouth shut.
a few things I tried recording earlier this year that didn't come out right. couldn't find melodies that worked for more than one of them, so only one has bad singing on it.
whatever i share next will probably not sound a whole lot like these. which I think is a good thing.

bad paintings, photographed poorly, #6: 'great moments with mr. lincoln'
I haven't forgotten you. This bandis a time commitment. So was moving. So is cashing in (and going to see things and trying to find places to do things and all of that stuff). The things I promised in June are still happening. Really.

bad paintings, photographed poorly, #5
Satellite View of America, Housepaint on cheap paper, March 2010 or something.
To whomever is actually reading this: I am working on some things you might be more interested in than paintings of skeletons (though I have many of these and I will totally sell you one if for some reason you are crazy and want to buy one).

more toys
Songs with things like 'words' and 'arrangements' aren't coming to me. But for about a minute it seemed like a good idea, so.

looper practice
In May I played a short improvised set here, behind that big white sheet:
I didn't really have any grasp as to how to make Live loop the way I needed to in 7, so my piano/howling/badly-played guitar combination got synced to the master tempo, got out of sync with me, and sounded like a jumbled, unlistenable mess.

I am practicing ways to deal with this in the future using newer software. No edits were done here. I'm also posting it as a WAV because it's not really a (finished) product. Just imagine that it's dark out, there are some drawings on the sheet, and I'm making high-pitched noises with my voice and it's just like you were there.

goth sketches
Two songs from last December. I was going to perform some more stuff like this, but it instead became an event at which Bryan and I played exciting records and when I tried writing another kind of like it I found myself at a complete and total loss for ideas, so I moved on. Either open tunings and delays lead to good ideas or the same one repeated indefinitely.
